Congratulations: Solana Seeds UK celebrates first anniversary

One year after is foundation, Solana Seeds UK has celebrated its first anniversary. Friends, customers and business partners had accepted the invitation to share in Solana Seeds United Kingdom celebrations as well as the opening of the new office in Melton Constable, Norfolk.

Craig Stephen, Commercial Director of Solana Seeds U.K. gave a positive summary of the first year in business: "We are pleased with our first year in business. The Verdi and Opal varieties have brought us initial success in the crisps market and Eos has also proved to be an excellent variety in the table potato market. In Miranda we have another very promising variety, which is particularly suitable for the fish and chips market, because it tastes great and is very robust.”

Solana Seeds UK Ltd had been founded on 1^st July 2015 as an independent subsidiary of Solana Group and is responsible for the marketing of potato varieties and high quality seed potatoes of Solana in Great Britain and Ireland. The Solana Group has been marketing seed stock on the British market since 2013. Since the market was developing very quickly so it was decided to form its own company.

Torsten Spill, managing director of Solana Group, welcomed the subsidiary and its team: “With Solana Seeds UK we welcome a new, very engaged team within the Solana-Group, which shares our passion for potatoes. We are really happy that you became part of Solana group and that we have founded a company in an important as well as traditional potato market like UK”, Torsten Spill said.
