Baby Lou was voted Potato of the Year at this year's "Tüffel­test" (potato test) – a competition in order to find the tastiest little (baby) potato in the Lewitz region in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany).

From 10-16 November Solana will exhibit at Agritechnica in Hanover (Germany) – the world’s leading international exhibition for agricultural machinery and equipment. We look forward to meeting you in hall 25, booth H30!

ESA European Seed Association is the voice of the European seed industry. With more than 35 member associations in Europe and beyond, ESA represents several thousand seed businesses, as well as more than 70 direct company members, including from seed related industries. Solana is an active member and welcomed on 22nd - 23rd May, the SPO - Section Potatoes - group of international CEOs at their breeding station in Windeby, Northern Germany. The group hold their latest meeting there and were shown the breeding activities of the Solana-Group.

The Solana-Group proudly announces to have successfully registered 8 new potato varieties by end of March.

The launched varieties will considerably increase the portfolio of table potatoes. As to changing environment and climate, the variety development team of the Solana-Group focus on continuous innovation.

These varieties offer various resistance and stress tolerances and deliver stable yields also under climate changes. Among other characteristics: two of them are red-skinned, we offer varieties suitable for organic use and for different world markets.

The variety-developer are in the process of testing the new varieties under differentiated conditions. With the beginning of August it will be possible to not only communicate about them but touch and experience all new varieties. Of course the new varieties will be presented on the Open Days in Emmeloord as well as at the Agritechnica in Hanover beginning of November.
